Composed of almost 120 acres, Greenwood Cemetery is a lush, beautiful property in Hamilton, New Jersey. It is about six miles from the state capital in Trenton, 60 miles from New York City, and just 35 miles from Philadelphia.

Greenwood is a large, nondenominational cemetery, but we offer services that take into account specific requests by the beliefs of particular faiths. For instance, Greenwood has expanded gardens serving members of the Islamic community, the Chinese communities of metropolitan New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, and the Greek Orthodox communities.

In addition, Greenwood has expanded two sections dedicated to Catholic families, and three sections dedicated to members of the Jewish faith. It also has sections dedicated to fraternal organizations, such as our fallen firefighters’ memorial garden.

It is also important to note that over the years, Mercer County has dedicated Greenwood Cemetery as its provider of burial space for military veterans, and has done so since the time of the Civil War. The Mercer County Veterans Day ceremony is held at Greenwood Cemetery, it’s one of the largest in the state of New Jersey.

Greenwood Cemetery provides burial services for 42 percent of the Mercer County, New Jersey population. Approximately 400 people are buried each year in Greenwood Cemetery, and to date, there are over 64,000 people interred on the property.
